Grunge pioneers Alice In Chains are heading back to the studio to record their first new material for 13 years - and their first without late frontman Layne Stayley.
The rockers reformed for live shows in 2006 with new singer William DuVall, but warned fans the prospect of recording without Stayley - who died of a drug overdose in 2002 - was too painful to contemplate.
However a message on the band's website reveals they are now hard at work preparing for a new LP. They will hit the studio to record the disc in October.
