Disney star Selena Gomez has ambitious political plans for her future - she'd love to be America's first lady.

The teen sensation is interested in important political topics such as climate change - despite being two years below the U.S. voting age of 18. And she admits to harboring fantasies of playing a particularly important political role - she would love to be a fashion conscious president's wife.

She tells People.com, "Being the first lady would be fun. I would try to make fashion involved with the first lady. I would make it fun." And the star wishes her peers would be as intrigued with politics as she is.

She adds, "You walk up to kids today and you ask them about global warming and issues like that, and half of them look at you and think, 'What's that?' That's sad because, you know; they don't know what's going on and what's going to happen if we don't start working on this issue now."
