A Los Angeles police officer pulled a gun on hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs during a routine traffic stop on Saturday.
A member of the rapper's entourage was pulled over at 3:15 a.m. on the city's Sunset Strip after authorities noticed the rental car he was driving did not have proper tags, police said on Sunday.
According to Los Angeles County's Sheriff department, the deputy called for backup when two cars stopped nearby as he searched the vehicle.
One member of the entourage was reportedly detained by police when he became uncooperative, prompting a group of others - including Combs - to approach the officer.
A Sheriff's department spokesperson tells the New York Daily News: "A deputy pulled his firearm, fearing for his safety. The situation was deflated as quickly as it began."
A spokesperson for Combs assures police did not pull the gun directly on the rapper, adding the officers were "really respectful".
The driver was not issued a ticket because the car was a rental vehicle.
No one was hurt in the incident.
