Eva Longoria Parker attempts to convince directors her characters should hug instead of kiss, because she hates smooching with anyone who isn't her husband.

The Desperate Housewives actress has just celebrated her first wedding anniversary with basketball star Tony Parker and she can't get used to the idea she has to lock lips with strange men on the big and small screen.

She tells Latina magazine, "I always try to talk my way out of kissing scenes: 'Do they really need to kiss in this part? Can't they just hug?' The directors are like, 'No!'"

And she isn't the only member of the "Desperate Housewives" cast who shudders at the thought of a kissing scene - her onscreen husband would prefer not to have to kiss her.

She adds, "Ricardo (Chavira) hates kissing me. We are both not really fond of the kissing scenes."
