Rage Against The Machine Plan Politically-Charged Show In Minneapolis

Rockers Rage Against The Machine are planning another major politically-charged concert by scheduling a Minneapolis, Minnesota gig during the same week as the Republican National Convention. The group will play at the Target Center on September 3, just 10 miles from the convention in St. Paul.
The last time the band performed in the same city as a major political event police had to use tear gas and pepper spray to calm fired up fans - that was in 2000 when the band played Los Angeles during the Democratic National Convention.
Meanwhile, Rage guitarist Tom Morello will get even closer to the political action next month - he'll perform as part of a protest rally outside the 2008 Republican National Convention on September 1.
