A French youth has been charged with posing online as Tokio Hotel star Bill Kaulitz to fool fans into sending him nude photos.

The 18-year-old man from southwestern France was arrested on Tuesday, with authorities claiming he had allegedly convinced young girls to send him naked pictures, which he subsequently published on the web.

The unnamed perpetrator is accused of signing up to various internet chatrooms purporting to be the German singer, and corresponding with girls as young as 11.

He is scheduled to stand trial in Perpignan, France, police have confirmed.
