So You Think You Can DanceAmerica has voted and it has finally happened - a hip hop dancer made it into the top four of "So You Think You Can Dance!" Not just one, but two. This is getting ahead of the game, but it has been quite a journey for hip hop on this show. Some of the most impressive dancers can pop and twirl on their heads, but they struggle with the technical aspects of Latin, ballroom, and contemporary during the competition. Every year they seem to learn other styles and impress the judges but just barely lose out to the better trained dancers. Not this time around!

Let's start from the top. This week was the last six dancers. Whoever got through this show would be in the finale, and therefore the last contestants capable of winning the show. From the top ten it becomes up to the audience to save their favorite dancers, and this led to an upset last week when judge favorite Will did not stay on. This just went to show that it is not just about talent but personality and flat out popularity on the part of the viewers. Adam Shankman was the guest judge this week and claimed that whoever wins the competition will get a place in his next movie. Very nice.

Courtney and Mark started it off with the Viennese Waltz to David Cook (nice "American Idol" tie-in), which has great lifts and lines. Their second dance was a jazz routine, which was a battle of the sexes, and Adam pronounced it "sick." In a good way. It did not save either of them from being in the bottom four dancers.

Katee and Joshua were back together, yay, and started out with a Tyce contemporary piece to Celine Dion. It was a "Romeo & Juliet" type of dance, and Katee did a gorgeous jump onto Joshua with her legs twisted around his arms. They then did a paso doble, which can usually spell trouble for dancers but not this time since the strobe lights and their continuous chemistry made it magic. Mary screamed and screamed, and it was no surprise that these two are guaranteed a spot to the finale. The first hip hopper, go Joshua!

This means of course that Chelsie and Twitch were also in the bottom. They started out with a mambo that yet again showed off how crazy impressive Chelsie's footwork is, and Twitch held his own despite her greater ability. Next was a hip-hop routine by Tabitha and Napoleon, and they were music conductors fighting for control dressed in tuxedos. It really looked fun, and they nailed it.

Each dancer also did a solo to win the hearts of the audience, but only four can go on. The results show started out with a contemporary routine to "The Rose" by Bette Midler. It was unsurprising since they have made references to her Las Vegas tour several times now. It was a very soothing routine and they all looked beautiful. Mandy Moore choreographed. The guest dancer was one of the cutest little six year olds you will ever find, a boy named Lil' Demon who did cartwheels and head spins and was very impressive. Lady Gaga was the guest musical performance.

The results were in, and two dancers had to go home. The bottom four were Courtney, Chelsie, Twitch, and Mark. Chelsie and Mark were unfortunately going home, leaving Courtney and Twitch in the finale, but that means yet another hip hop dancer is in the top four and could win the show! It was surprising to see Courtney win over Chelsie. Let it be known that Twitch and Courtney have to really surpass themselves next week, because Joshua and Katee are the only contestants this season who have never been in the bottom three. They have sailed through the competition so far on talent and winning smiles, and clearly their popularity has not waned. Katee almost did not get on the show because it was between her and her best friend. She blundered by telling the judges that if she did not get on, she might not try out again. They were wary of her giving up so easily, but they kept her through.

So get ready, because on Wednesday the finale begins, and who wins is all depending on your vote! Also, for those fans who want to see the tour of the top ten, tickets go on sale August 2nd. Check out the official FOX website for more information.
