Fleetwood MacPop legends Fleetwood Mac will follow their 2009 comeback tour with their first studio album in six years. The British/American band recently announced it would be hitting the road next year for a series of gigs.

And guitarist/singer Lindsey Buckingham reveals they will be using their road shows as rehearsals for when they head into the studio to record their 18th studio album.

He says, "I think maybe there was even a sense that we would make a better album if we went out and hung out together first on the road... Maybe even sowing some seeds musically that would get us more prepared to go in the studio rather than just going in cold. It takes the pressure (off) from having to go in and make something cold."

Buckingham has already ruled out rumors Sheryl Crow will be joining the band.
