Patrick Swayze insists his ongoing cancer battle is a "miracle." The ailing actor posed for photographers in Los Angeles over the weekend, looking healthy and fit, despite reports he's dying.

The Point Break star was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, prompting claims he had just months to live.

But the 55 year old has responded well to treatment at California's Stanford University Medical Center, and he shared his good health with photographers, who caught up with him as he headed back to work over the weekend.

As he prepared to board a flight to Chicago, Illinois, where he will begin shooting new TV series The Beast, Swayze told snappers, "I'm a miracle ... I don't know why."

Last month the reclusive star revealed he was "winning" his battle with the deadly disease, thanks to a healthy diet. He said, "My treatments are working and I am winning the battle. I am juicing [drinking fresh fruit juice] every day along with other treatments and all I can say is that it's working fine and really well."
