Rapper Kanye West has served up big surprises for U.S. soldiers returning home from service in Iraq. The hip-hop hitmaker has teamed up with MTV bosses to honor America's war heroes as part of a new TV special.
In new show "Choose or Lose & Kanye West Present: Homecoming," the rapper offers discharged troops help and advice as they try to get back to normal life after fighting in the Middle East. He also listens to their heartbreaking stories and harrowing war experiences after surprising young war veterans in their homes.
The one-hour special will air in on July 28.
West says, "There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about. I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more."
