Folk legend Artie Traum has died of liver cancer. He was 65. The veteran musician died on Sunday in his Woodstock, New York home.

Traum enjoyed a long and successful career as a songwriter and guitarist in New York's famed Greenwich Village music scene during the 1960s.

The Bronx-born folk star recorded a series of solo albums in the 1990s with some of the biggest names in folk, rock and jazz, including James Taylor, Pete Seeger and his brother, Happy Traum.

Traum is survived by his wife, Beverly.
