Barenaked LadiesBarenaked Ladies have pulled out of a Disney charity show performance after frontman Steven Page was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession.

The band was scheduled to play at the Disney Music Block Party in Long Island, New York, next month, but manager Terry McBride confirms they have pulled out. He says, "Members of the band completely support Steven Page but we don't want to put Disney in an awkward position before issues involving Steven's arrest are resolved."

Page was arrested last week after police found him and a companion in an apartment in Manlius, New York, with what appeared to be cocaine. The substance tested positive for cocaine, according to police reports, and the singer and his friend were and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They were both released from custody after posting $10,000 bail.

In a post on the Barenaked Ladies' website, the band insists the singer will plead not guilty to the charge in his forthcoming trial and that "the validity of the charges against Steven will be strongly contested".
