Newlywed Mariah Carey is set to follow in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Cher and Elton John by headlining a spectacular Las Vegas residency. Sources claim a $100 million three-year offer has been laid down by bosses of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for the pop superstar to perform nightly.

An insider tells Star magazine, "Mariah is one of the most popular performers around. She could easily become the Queen of the Las Vegas strip."

Meanwhile, Carey is to make her first public stage performance as Mrs. Nick Cannon outside the home of the Oscars.

The pop superstar will play a free 35-minute summer concert at the Hollywood & Highland shopping complex on July 31.
