Mark Ronson has waded into a disagreement between rappers Jay-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs - insisting neither of the hip-hop stars discovered him.

The pair has argued over who turned the former nightclub DJ into a successful producer - with both rappers adamant they were the one who first noticed his musical talents.

But Ronson disagrees with the pair's boasts, insisting it was his mom who first realized he was set for stardom.

He tells the BBC, "(I'm) flattered (but) neither of them discovered me. They used to come to all the nightclubs in New York where I would play when I was starting off as a hip-hop DJ. They definitely took me under their wing at points. No, my mum discovered me."
