MegadethRockers Megadeth have warned fans not to buy tickets for an advertised show in Turkey - insisting the concert is a scam by unscrupulous promoters.

The band were reported to be holding a gig in Bursa, Turkey in July, but the group have denied they were ever booked to play the event.

Megadeth's management have now hit out at the companies advertising the concert - accusing them of false advertising and attempting to fool music lovers into buying tickets.

A statement on the band's website has warned fans not to be caught.

It reads, "Megadeth would like to bring to attention that a concert promoter in Turkey is falsely advertising that Megadeth is to play in Bursa, Turkey this coming July. Megadeth is not, and never was, confirmed to play this show. Megadeth's management is aggressively pursuing this concert promoter for false advertising."
