Don Cheadle will join Charlize Theron, Clint Eastwood and movie pal George Clooney when he becomes a recipient of the Spirit of Independence Award at the upcoming Los Angeles Film Festival.

The actor will be honored for his outstanding contributions to film at a gala event on June 29th. The Los Angeles Film Festival will open with the premiere of Angelina Jolie's new action film Wanted on June 19th.

It will close with the Cheadle gala and the premiere of Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.
