Rapper Lil Wayne is facing a lawsuit from a songwriter who claims he sampled one of her songs without permission. The star, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, uses Karma Ann Swanepoel's folk track "Once" on his hit song "I Feel Like Dying."

Wayne's record label has been attempting to secure a deal with Swanepoel allowing him to release the song, reports TMZ.com.

But she is angry the track has appeared on websites including MySpace and YouTube before an agreement has been reached - and has filed suit in Louisiana.
