TV host Ellen DeGeneres is planning a trip to Australia to meet her fiancée Portia De Rossi's family - ahead of their planned wedding.

DeGeneres revealed her plans to wed the Australian actress during her daytime show last week, a day after same-sex marriages were declared legal in California. And now the lesbian couple is hoping to travel to de Rossi's native country, so DeGeneres can meet her grandmother - who won't be able to travel to the U.S. for the wedding.

DeGeneres says, "I've met Portia's mother and her cousins, and I mentioned last night that we should go (to Australia) for Christmas. I can't wait to get there. I'd like to get the show there. I'm going to push hard to make that happen."
