Comedian Eddie Griffin is firing back at claims he racially abused and assaulted a TV show crew member - insisting the accusation is "absurd." Vince Beane has filed a lawsuit against Griffin, alleging the star attacked him while he was working as a production manager on a pilot show Griffin was shooting.

Legal papers claim the star flipped out when Beane booked a cheap hotel for him and his mother and accused him of treating his mother "like a slave n----" before beating him up.

Griffin's representative has released a statement refuting the claims: "We cannot comment on the details of ongoing litigation,except to say that this claim is completely absurd and that it will be shown in time to be without merit."
