Disco star Donna Summer has poked fun at her 'The Queen of Disco' title in a new song on her long-awaited album. The "Hot Stuff" singer is to release her first album in 17 years after signing a new record deal.
And the 59-year-old says she wanted to add some fun to her LP, entitled Crayons, so she has included a song titled "The Queen is Back. "
She says, "It's just kind of poking fun at the fact that this queen image has prevailed for so long. It's having fun with it and saying I was out of the picture for a while but she's back."
Summer, whose last LP was 1991's Mistaken Identity, has a new contract with Sony BMG subsidiary Burgundy Records.
Crayons is slated for release on Tuesday.
