Kid Rock has handed over $10,000 to a group of Boy Scouts after discovering their camping equipment has been stolen. The rocker was in Orlando, Florida when he read reports that a trailer and camping gear belonging to Oviedo Boy Scout Troop 631 had been stolen from behind a church.
Rock, struck by the story, stepped in and wrote out a check. His publicist Nick Stern says, "Rock was very happy to help out."
The troop leader, Bill Stott, insists Kid Rock's generosity and donations made to the scouts from Florida locals will be more than enough to replace the stolen equipment.
Stott has vowed to donate any leftover cash: "A Scout earns his way. The community is giving to us, so we want to give back to the community."
