Roy HornMagician Roy Horn is recovering after undergoing an operation in Austria to rebuild the knee that was ruined in a savage on stage tiger attack.

The showman - one half of legendary Las Vegas duo Siegfried & Roy - was left in a life-threatening condition after a white Bengal tiger used in the magicians' Mirage Hotel and Casino spectacular mauled him during an October 2003 performance.

Horn went under the knife in Graz on Monday to receive a knee cartilage transplant, and doctors have revealed his condition is "given the circumstances, very satisfactory".

Siegfried & Roy are due to return to the Las Vegas stage in February 2009 - their first since the near-fatal incident.
