Captain Kirk's Feud With Mr. Spock

Kirk & SpockWilliam Shatner blames a bitter feud with fellow Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy for marring his time on the cult sci-fi series. The actor, who shot to fame as Captain Kirk in the original 1960s TV show, states tensions built up between himself and Nimoy after the dueling pair indulged in a bout of verbal spats on set.

In his new autobiography, Up Till Now, Shatner explains how Nimoy - who played Mr. Spock on the show - thought he was "a real son of a bitch". And he adds that the actor took his on-set comments the wrong way: "(Nimoy) thought I betrayed him for the amusement of others."

Kirk & SpockHowever, Shatner insists the pair later became "best friends" after they were thrown back together to take part in Star Trek conventions.
