Madonna On Top Again
Hard Candy sold 280,000 copies to give Madonna her latest number one and topple Mariah Carey's E=MC2, which spent two weeks at the top of the U.S. charts.
Carey's album falls to two and British singer Leona Lewis' Spirit drops a place to three.
Two debuts round out the new top five - Lyfe Jennings' Lyfe Change bows at four, while rockers Def Leppard enter the chart at five with their 11th consecutive top 20 album, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge.
The Roots, Portishead, Tom Petty's reunited Mudcrutch and country star Tim McGraw all debut new albums in the new top 10.
