13-Year-Old My Chemical Romance Fan Hangs Herself
The emo movement hit headlines recently after fans were targeted in South America and bullied and tormented for their all-black fashion sense and music taste.
And now Hannah Bond's bedroom suicide has sparked controversy in Britain. The teenager, who called herself Living Disaster, hanged herself from a bunk bed in her bedroom, after telling her parents she was going to kill herself.
At her inquest, coroner Roger Sykes admitted he found elements of the emo movement "very disturbing", according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The inquest was told Bond was an avid fan of My Chemical Romance and spent hours in online chat rooms talking about her musical obsession and thoughts of suicide.
Bond told online friends of her plans to hang herself and live on in the afterlife as a member of "the black parade" - the title of My Chemical Romance's last album.
