Movie pals Brad Pitt and George Clooney are to open this year's Venice Film Festival in Italy with their new Coen Brothers film.

The Ocean's Eleven stars teamed up to shoot spy comedy Burn After Reading, and now the movie has been selected to launch the European film event in August.

The film, which also stars John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton, will have its world premiere on August 27 at the festival.
