John Hiatt To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
The Grammy-nominated star, 55, will join previous recipients of the accolade including Willie Nelson, Rodney Crowell and Billy Joe Shaver, when he is presented with the award on September 18 at the Nashville, Tennessee event.
Jed Hilly, the AMA's executive director, says, "It's a privilege to honor John Hiatt. He is the essence of what the Americana songwriter award is all about - a true artist, a performer and songwriter whose work is steeped in integrity."
Hiatt has enjoyed a career spanning over 35 years and has written songs for the likes of Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, B.B. King, and country star Nelson.
