Wim WendersDirectors Werner Herzog, Wim Wenders and Paul Schrader have signed on to judge a series of internet movie contests designed to take amateur filmmakers' work to the big screen.

The idea is the brainchild of TV executive Sandy Grushow and Hollywood producer Deepak Nayar.

The pair is inviting aspiring filmmakers to send three minute short films to Filmaka.com.

A panel including Herzog, Wenders and Schrader will judge the contests - and the winners will get a film produced by Grushow and Nayar, with a $2 million to $3 million budget.

Wannabe TV writers also have the opportunity to create small screen pilots through the site, reports Variety.
