Criminals Regularly Go Unpunished In 'Medium'

Last week it was discussed how surprising "Medium" can be with its dark and gray undertones, and this week it should also be added that it often lets criminals get away with their crimes.
Most crime shows are fairly direct: a crime is committed, investigated, suspects are questioned, victim's loved ones are questioned, eventually some twist happens and the person they thought was the bad guy isn't, and then the villain is caught. End of story. Occasionally those criminal dramas do go a different route but rarely so consistently and questionably as "Medium" does.
In this season alone Allison watched a friend commit murder and go to jail, and a former FBI agent died and tricked her into letting a sociopath die. Earlier in the season a father admitted to a murder he thought one daughter did, never knowing his other daughter was the smiling culprit. The newest episode, "A Cure For What Ails You," has a similar conclusion with no real closure.
Allison has a dream about a voyeur watching a couple fight. She then dreams about Scanlon's girlfriend Lynn calling a friend, who is in a pool of blood under the bed. Allison calls Scanlon, and they do indeed find that woman dead. When poison is found to be the cause of death, Allison's visions and Scanlon's spidey sense pinpoint the grieving husband. However, a second completely unrelated death, followed by two others, convinces the DA's office that it is the medicine Adviprin that caused these tragic accidents.
Allison continues to have visions of the husband talking to a group of unseen individuals about how he wants his wife dead, but with nothing linking him to the other deaths, she has no evidence of her suspicions. At the same time, Allison's health begins to fail, and she feels dizzy, confused, and ill, even fainting during a phone conversation with Scanlon.
In the end, the murderous plot between complete strangers at an airport is revealed, but there is still no proof. Scanlon promises the husband that the house will be watched, and the moment one of them slips, he will be there. It is left uncertain if this plan will ever work, and whether or not Scanlon can actually stake out the house for too long is unknown. Has this man and his accomplices gotten away with murder? For the time being, it appears so.
On the Dubois family front, Marie needs glasses, but she reads the mind of her doctor so he is convinced she can see everything clearly. Joe is forced to persuade the doctor of her psychic abilities and get his daughter the help she needs. Also, Joe is becoming increasingly antsy and impatient, perhaps as a result of his new business. His beautiful new partner Meghan is nowhere to be seen this week, but Kelly Preston is scheduled to come back, and she is mentioned once by a curious, slightly jealous Allison. Joe reassures her with a light tease, but it will be interesting to see what happens when the two women meet in person. The 'stay away from my husband' plot is really unnecessary, but it is safe to say the show will be going there anyway.
This was overall an unmemorable episode. Perhaps it was because of the fuzziness of Allison's health, which is never clearly explained. Is she feeling the poison herself? This seems to be the most likely answer since she has had symptoms of the victims in the past, but about halfway through the episode the illness is not brought up again. The best episode plots on "Medium" are the ones that Allison personally gets involved with and she seemed a little distant from this case. That could be because she never knew the other victims, and it was all spread out thinly. It also would have been a nice touch to put Lynn in there more, since the woman was supposed to be her friend and she does not always have to be just Detective Scanlon's girlfriend.
The teaser revealed nothing of next week, but the episode is titled "Car Trouble," and it involves a very Christine-like storyline. Joe buys Allison a car, and she starts having visions about a crime that went on inside.
