Colin FirthBritish actor Colin Firth insists Mamma Mia moviemakers only have themselves to blame if the big-screen adaptation of the stage musical flops - because they gave him his role without hearing him sing.

Firth and co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgard all hit the high notes in the movie, which features a soundtrack by Swedish pop legends ABBA.

None of the acting trio are singers - so Firth is keeping his fingers crossed their voices don't kill the movie.

He says, "They didn't audition me to sing. They didn't audition Pierce Brosnan to sing. Or Stellan Skarsgard. So they get whatever they deserved as far as I'm concerned."
