Actress Brittany Snow has thanked her pal Sophia Bush for helping her recover from a nine-year battle with anorexia. The star insists she wouldn't have overcome the illness in 2005 without the support of Bush, who, at the time, had split from her husband - One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray.

She says, "Sophia gives really, really good advice. I was going through a difficult time, and she was going through a difficult time figuring out the whole Chad thing. We had so many slumber parties where she held my hand (as we worked) through a lot of different things. When somebody can be there through something like that, they're a friend forever."

And the star admits she only made the decision to reveal details of her eating disorder when two of her friends died from a similar illness.

She adds, "I was devastated. I have so many girlfriends who are not even in Hollywood who struggle with eating disorders - Sophia and Amanda (Bynes) are the only two people I know who are happy with their bodies. Thank God I went through all of that so early, in middle and high school, to realize it's not about being popular or cool - it's about being who you are."
