Brit sensation Leona Lewis continues on her path to conquer the U.S. - she will be performing her worldwide smash hit single "Bleeding Love" on American Idol on April 23rd. Leona was the third season winner of Simon Cowell's British 'Idol' counterpart, "The X Factor."

Leona's worldwide record breaking debut album Spirit was released in the U.S. on Tuesday and word on the street is that Spirit will debut at #1 on the Billboard album charts. This would be the first time ever that a British female has ever debuted at #1. Leona's trend of chart breaking ensues... just two weeks ago, she broke yet another record in the U.S., becoming the first British female solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart in over 21 years with her single "Bleeding Love."

Oprah called it early when she simply stated "A Star Is Born. You're the real deal!" after her TV debut performance.

Some other possible release week milestones for Leona include:
-First British female to have an album debut #1 on the chart
-First British act to have their initial release debut #1 on the chart
-Biggest first week for a new female artist since Carrie Underwood in 2005
