R&B singer Akon
is looking to Europe and Africa in a bid to find the next "mega superstar." The "Locked Up" hitmaker has expanded his record label Konvict Muzik Company with the launch of a new London office - where he hopes to add more international artists to the firm's roster.
Melvin Brown, co-owner and fellow CEO of Konvict Muzik, says, "We will be scanning Europe and Africa for the next mega superstars. When Akon and I partnered and created Konvict Muzik, we agreed that we would have the hottest artists on our roster. I have concentrated on diversifying the artist roster and creating an international presence. I personally look for unique artists."
And label bosses have already signed up two new acts they believe are set for fame - reggae/hip-hop trio American Yard and Dutch boyband GLOWB, reports AllHipHop.com
However, Brown has refused to comment on rumors British rapper Sway
has joined the roster, which already boasts dancehall star Kardinal Offishall
and Grammy winning artist T-Pain
