Flashdance star and hip-hop/breakdance pioneer Wayne 'Frosty Freeze' Frost has died at the age of 44. Frost shot to fame after his performance in the 1983 film, with the famous Rock Steady Crew, which started a worldwide breakdancing craze.

He also appeared in hip-hop movies Wild Style, Beat Street and Style Wars. Frost lost a long battle with illness on Thursday, according to longtime friend and Rocksteady Crew senior vice president Jorge 'Fabel' Pabon.
