British singer Corinne Bailey Rae has thanked fans around the world for their support, a week after her husband died from a drug overdose.

The body of saxophonist Jason Rae was discovered in a Leeds, England flat last Saturday. He was 31, and had been married to the Grammy winner for seven years.

A week on, Bailey Rae has released a statement through her manager Bob Miller, which reads, "Corinne Bailey Rae and her family have been touched by the huge amount of love and support that's flooded in from all over the world. That is really helping all of us cope at this terrible time. Corinne is also very grateful for the privacy she is being given and the respect that has been paid to herself and Jason."
