R&B star Rihanna is giving her charity for under-privileged children a big boost by holding a mini-tour to raise funds for the cause. The Grammy Award-winning artist created the Believe Foundation in 2006 with the aim to assist children in need all over the world.
The organization provides kids with everything from medical attention to school supplies.
And kind-hearted Rihanna is staging a series of special shows to raise the charity's awareness and give sick kids the chance to have some fun.
The "A Girl's Night Out Tour" kicked off on Wednesday night at Chicago, Illinois' Vision nightclub, and Rihanna has another two shows scheduled for March 28 at San Francisco's Ruby Skye and April 9 at New York City's HighLine Ballroom.
She tells People.com, "When I was young and I would watch television and I would see all the children suffering, I always said when I grow up I want to help. Not long after I was in the position where I could help. I started to visit all these children's hospitals and I have a soft spot for kids. I just want to help and make sure they are happy. They can come to a Rihanna concert or have toys or gifts at Christmas."
