Hawthorne Heights Plan Tribute For Late Guitarist

Hawthorne HeightsIndie rockers Hawthorne Heights have written a tribute to guitarist Casey Calvert, which they'll debut at their first show without the late rocker.

The group will perform at next month's Bamboozle Left festival in California and they've written a special song honoring their bandmate, who tragically died of an accidental overdose in November.

Drummer Eron Bucciarelli tells RollingStone.com, "Once we're out there, we'll announce it and let people know what it is. It's going to be on our next album, but the song is still a work in progress and we're changing it day by day."

Calvert's death has left the band with performance anxiety, because they've had to relearn all their tunes as a four-piece, and even considered sampling the late guitarist trademark screaming - so he'd be very much a part of the live set.

Bucciarelli adds, "We played around with the idea of sampling his screaming parts from our records and just playing this through the PA, but we decided that wasn't really real and that it would be better to just let the fans scream along to those parts if they want."

Calvert accidentally overdosed from a mixture of prescribed anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medication and painkillers.
