For 10 years, 30 million viewers turned in each week to check out what was going on in the lives of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross. "Friends
" was so popular, it even developed a big trend, the famous hairstyle called "The Rachel." Since then, many women have flocked to hair salons so they can have their hair look like their favorite TV characters.
It's been four years since "Friends" ended, and the cast has move on to many different projects. There were some hits ("The Breakup," "Dirt" and "The Comeback
"), and misses ("Joey
" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
"). Here is a look at what our favorite friends have been up to since the series ended in 2004.
It's safe to say that Jennifer Aniston is the most high-profiled of the cast members, mostly because of her personal life and not her professional one. The Brangelina hooplah aside, Aniston has been busy with a successful film career, starring in "Derailed
," "Rumor Has It
," "Friends With Money
" and her most successful "The Break-Up
" with ex-boyfriend Vince Vaughn
. She's also appeared in Courteney Cox's
Dirt. Aniston has several films in the works including, "He's Just Not That Into You
," "Gambit," and "The Senator's Wife." She's currently filming "Marley & Me
" with Owen Wilson
Lisa Kudrow has had minor success since her role of the ditzy Phoebe Buffet ended in 2004. She appeared alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal
in the independent film "Happy Endings
" and added her voice in a few episodes of NBC's "Father Of The Pride
," the show didn't last very long. She than landed the role as reality star Valerie Cherish in the HBO's Emmy nominated series "The Comeback
." Kudrow than appeared in the film "Kabluey
," which reunited her with former "Friends" co-star Teri Garr
, who played Kudrow's mother on the show. She currently has several films in the works, including "Powder Blue
," "Hotel for Dogs
" and "Will
For 10 years Matt LeBlanc played Joey "How U Doin'?" Tribbiani. Everyone loved Joey and NBC did too, so they gave LeBlanc his own spin-off "Joey" the following fall TV season. There were tons of rumors that the former stars of "Friends" would appear on "Joey," but it didn't happen. Unfortunately, "Friends" fans didn't tune into the series, and it got the ax during the second season. According to IMDb, LeBlanc doesn't have any projects in the works. It seems LeBlanc went M.I.A. when Joey wrapped. Do you blame him?
Matthew Perry has had some minor success since playing Chandler Bing, but nothing like a few of his former co-stars. He had a minor stint on Scrubs
and appeared in a few TV movies like "The Ron Clark Story
." Many thought he had a hit on his hands with NBC's ensemble "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
," but half way through the season NBC pulled the plug. Perry is currently filming Seventeen Again
alongside teen sensation Zac Efron
. Perry might not be on Friends anymore, but he will always be our "little Bing-a-ling."
Courteney Cox has been working steadily since she stopped playing the role of the complete neat freak Monica Gellar. She supplied the voice of Daisy the Cot in Barnyard
and has appeared in "The Longest Yard
" and "Zoom
." In 2007 she landed the role of an entertainment journalist in FX's Dirt
. Not only does she star on the series, but she also serves as the co-executive producer alongside her husband David Arquette
. Cox has two films in the works, "Bedtime Stories
" and "The Big Change."
Since leaving "Friends," David Schwimmer has had a good career making independent films. He starred in indie flick "Duane Hopwood
," "Big Nothing
" and was the voice of Melman in "Madagascar
." He also appeared on 30 Rock
. Schwimmer has two films in the works, "Nothing But The Truth
" and the sequel to "Madagascar" titled "Madagascar: The Crate Escape
." Schwimmer's new film "Run Fatboy Run
," which he directed, is getting rave reviews from critics everywhere.
