One Tree HillThere were a litany of reasons to watch last night's episode of "One Tree Hill": It was the 100th episode of the show; Lucas and Lindsey were getting married; and Karen and Lily Roe arrived back in America all the way from France. But like many fans are familiar with, the building blocks of an OTH episode never fall short of spectacular. A day after the world celebrated St. Patrick's Day, the rejoicing continued with a milestone episode of "One Tree Hill."

We celebrated the homecoming of those who've been away for far too long. After several months, Karen made her way back to America with a surprise guest: Lily! Though we never got to know the younger version of Karen and Keith's daughter, the four-year-old version is cute as a button! Though we thought the two were away on vacation, fans discovered she had gone back to visit her former love and professor, Andy. As much as we all miss Keith and his good-natured personality, Andy does an excellent job of being Karen's boyfriend and Lucas' confidant.

We celebrated the unity of two people ready to profess their undying love for each other though marriage. Why is it that Lucas cannot seem to locate where his heart truly lies? How fair is it to celebrate his true feelings through his passion of writing? Though Lucas uttered the words "I do," Lindsey drew upon her own insecurities and doubts pertaining to their relationship. After finally grasping the reality of the situation, Lindsey left Lucas standing alone on the altar. For many fans, is this reason to celebrate? Does Lindsey's departure finally mean Peyton and Lucas can rekindle their true love? Or will it push Lucas into a hole deeper than he ever imagined?

Is one's grieving period another one's celebration? Both Nanny Carrie and Dan Scott chose to take advantage of the wedding ceremony as a distraction for the own actions. Convincing Jamie of her mother-like love, Carrie kidnapped Jamie in a once-and-for-all attempt to win his young heart.

With Dan back in the Tree Hill community, where his personal morals and beliefs lie exactly are still unknown. Despite making a cameo outside of the church, Dan managed to stand up to Nanny Carrie, rescue Jamie and win his trust all at the same time. While Haley Scott struggled with the placement of blame, Dan took the opportunity to bring home his grandson and confront his family with an undeniable air of confidence. As the final last seconds of the episode ticked away, little Jamie strolled into his house as if nothing had ever gone wrong. I have to wonder, though. Is Dan back for redemption...or once again, revenge?

In 2003, producer Mark Schwahn introduced Lucas Scott and Haley James, best friends who were merely trying to survive the ups and downs of high school. Before anyone knew it, a particular Comet convertible broke down bringing two future lovers together, two people experienced a connection through tutoring sessions and a Cracker Jack box bracelet, and a cheerleader searched for the true meaning of friendship and happiness. Who could have imagined that more than five years and nearly 100 episodes later, "One Tree Hill" would still be so strong? In simplest terms, congrats to Mark Schwahn and his sensationally talented team of writers!

Stay tuned for more "One Tree Hill" reviews when the show returns with new episodes in April!
