He changed the shape of the UK, and now weight-loss guru Paul McKenna is coming to America in the brand-new TLC series "I Can Make You Thin," premiering March 16 at 9 PM ET/PT.
His anti-diet approach, a series of mental exercises delivered to the viewing audience through the television, could eliminate the need for counting calories, cutting out carbs, starving yourself, or enduring brutal workouts. Now - for the first time ever - you can learn the secret to losing weight just by watching TV.
The series will showcase Paul‘s “4 Golden Rules” -simple, accessible techniques that show viewers how to control the mind‘s relationship with food - to help shed pounds and gain confidence without having to leave the couch.
Paul explains: “This is not a diet – it’s about changing your life using simple psychological techniques which transform people‘s relationship with food forever. I am thrilled to bring this successful program to America for the first time.” Paul’s program is already a smash success in England, where the British version of the series was the most-watched show in the history of Sky Television and its companion book is the best-selling self-improvement book in British history.
Paul, who has helped celebrities get into shape and stay healthy, will kick off his five part series by sharing his rules; each week he will apply these rules to one of the major themes that most commonly define people‘s struggle with weight: emotional eating, addictions and cravings, motivation to exercise and metabolism, and self esteem and self-image.
Using a groundbreaking, highly interactive format, "I Can Make You Thin" will combine a live audience, field pieces, scientific research, and revolutionary at-home strategies - viewers will be empowered to reprogram how they think about food and use the connectivity of TV to work one-on-one with Paul to learn how to lose weight and stay thin - without giving up any favorite foods and never having to think of certain foods as "the enemy" ever again. As with any weight-loss strategy, individual results may vary.
"Paul is a pioneer in the field of weight-loss, challenging and exercising the mind‘s relationship with food," said Brant Pinvidic, SVP Programming, TLC. "Finally, American viewers will learn why the TV might be the most important weight-loss tool ever."
"I Can Make You Thin" will premiere Sunday, March 16, at 9 PM on TLC and the TLC HD simulcast.
