NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Performers at this year's Essence Music Festival in New Orleans will include Kanye West, Chris Rock, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.

The announcement was made Thursday for the July festival, which celebrates African-American music and culture. An estimated 200,000 people attended last year.
