Funnyman Tim Allen is to add filmmaker to his list of talents - he's moving behind the camera for his first movie Crazy On The Outside. The comedian will star in, as well as helm the new project, about an ex-convict who struggles to adapt to a life of freedom, especially when his sister tries to help him out.

Allen has previously tried his hand at directing on his smash-hit TV show Home Improvement - but he took control of just one episode in his eight years on the program.

Actors Ray Liotta, Carrie-Anne Moss and Kelsey Grammer are reportedly in talks to join the project.
