Julianne Moore has dismissed rumors she is to join the cast of hit TV show Desperate Housewives, insisting there is no truth to the reports.

The Oscar winning star was alleged to have accepted a part in the program as the sister of Marcia Cross' character Bree in a bid by producers to boost falling viewing figures.

But Moore's representative Stephen Huvane tells OK! magazine, "Julianne will NOT be on Desperate Housewives."
