Troubled singer Britney Spears was nearly evicted from her Malibu, California home last month, after falling two weeks behind on paying her rent. Spears, who is currently fighting her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two children, reportedly failed to pay her $35,000 rent and a $2,100 late charge.

Spears' landlord issued a letter dated February 14 to the official lessee, Love Shack Trust, warning the pop superstar to pay her rent or "surrender and deliver up possession of said premises", according to TMZ.com.

The website claims Spears is now up-to-date with her rental payments.
