The Producers star Nathan Lane is to star in a Broadway musical version of Steven Spielberg's hit movie Catch Me If You Can. The Tony Award-winning actor will play police inspector Carl Hanratty - played by Tom Hanks in the 2002 movie.
Hanks' character spent the film chasing real-life con artist Frank Abagnale Jr, who was portrayed on screen by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Lane reveals, "I'm doing a workshop for a new musical by the team who brought you Hairspray - Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. It's based on the book and film Catch Me If You Can. I play the Tom Hanks part. It's a wonderful piece of material. We've been developing it for a few years. Hopefully it will come to fruition."
