Kathleen Turner Hopes October Operation Will Be Her Last

Kathleen TurnerActress Kathleen Turner is hoping the next joint operation on her knees and feet will be her last because she's tired of the painful procedure. The aging beauty suffers from chronic rheumatoid arthritis and has to undergo operations every October to keep her out of a wheelchair.

She says, "I hope it'll be my last one this year. I'm a little worried about keeping my left knee; I had to have my right knee replaced... It's such fun at airports - I stand there saying, 'Yes I have a titanium knee.'"

Turner remains upbeat about her annual operations - because the alternative is unthinkable.

She adds, "They told me that I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life and I said, 'I don't think so.'"
