George Clooney and his girlfriend Sarah Larson left the Academy Awards on Sunday empty-handed - because the movie star refuses to accept free gifts. The Michael Clayton star avoids gift suites at awards shows and parties - because he doesn't want to be seen as being greedy.

And, if he's ever sent a free gift, he gives it away to charity.

Clooney tells Time magazine, "I've been smart about that. Rich famous people getting free s--- looks bad. You look greedy. And I don't need a cell phone with sparkles on it."
