Actress Keira Knightley worked with a special make-up artist on the set of the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies - to transform her naturally flat chest into a pair of heaving bosoms.

The 22-year-old, who has nicknamed her modest breasts "pecs", spent 45 minutes in a beautician's chair every morning to create the illusion of cleavage spilling over the corset she wore in her role as Elizabeth Swann.

She says, "They painted my tits on me for the films, which is extraordinary because it's kind of a dying art form - in the past, they used to have whole sections of the studios devoted to bosom make-up. And I loved it, completely loved it. Because it was the first time in my life I had big tits, and I didn't even need surgery."

It is not the first time Knightley's bust has been cleverly enhanced. In 2004, U.S. posters for her film King Arthur featured the slim actress' breasts boosted to an ample C-cup.
