British action man Jason Statham is in training for a third Transporter film, in a bid to make sure he's fit and injury free when he starts shooting with French director Luc Besson.

The star admits the two previous car-chase films have taken a lot out of him and he's determined to make sure he's well-prepared for a third and final film.

He says, "I'm preparing physically now. I'm on a very strict regime from six o'clock in the morning to mid-day every day. I've had some injuries and now that they're all healed, I've got to put myself back in fighting position.

"It's basically a lot of stretching and conditioning, so, when I do get involved with all the choreography, I can turn up on day four of the action sequences and still have energy."
