Michelle WilliamsActress Michelle Williams has put work commitments on hold indefinitely while she grieves for her former fiancée Heath Ledger. The 27-year-old was filming the last scenes of new movie Mammoth in Sweden when she heard of her former lover's death last week.

The former Dawson's Creek star immediately flew to New York with the couple's two-year-old daughter Matilda where she is expected to stay with family and friends. However the trip has prompted the filmmakers behind her next project Blue Valentine - also starring Ryan Gosling - to put the film on hold.

A source tells People.com, "We will hold off until she is ready. The production is in the process of sorting it out in respect to her. We're hoping she will still come back and do the film and are happy to wait. The film is tailor made for those two so of course we would want to wait. You can't get much better than them."

Williams and Ledger began dating after meeting on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2005. The couple split in September.
